Planning Your Garden For Spring

It may not feel like it - but spring is just around the corner! Even during these last few winter months there are quite a few tasks you can tick off to get a headstart on your spring gardening. From taking inventory of your tools to checking your compost, check out our tips below for getting your garden spring ready!
- Get your compost ready as this is vital for a healthy garden. This includes checking existing compost for mould.
- Get your seeds growing, whether it be inside by a window or in a greenhouse. This way they are ready to get outside and in the ground by May or June.
- During warmer periods you can get out and start preparing your soil. Breaking it up and turning it saves time during the warmer days in late April and early May
- Dig out your gardening gloves and any other tools you might need so they’re easy to find when you’re ready to head outside.
- Take stock of your garden tools, make sure everything is in working order, cleaned off, and take note of what might need to be replaced.
While it might be too early to plant most of our gardens, it’s the perfect time of year to tick off a few tasks off of your to-do lists and get out into our gardens. What are your tips for planning your spring garden?
