Gift Wrapping Doesn't Need To Be Expensive

Canadians throw out 540,000 tonnes of wrapping paper and gift bags each year. Most of it isn't recyclable because of the glitter, synthetic inks and plastic coating.
Whether you care about the planet or you’re on a budget - try to recycle what you already have.
- Replace expensive wrapping paper with newspapers, maps or crosswords
- Replace tape with string or twine or anything else you have handy for the gifts
- Replace ribbons with decorative ornaments like cookies, candy canes, twigs, Christmas tree or berry branches
PRO TIP #1
Most people use too much paper so to make sure you have the right amount, wind a piece of string around the width of your gift. The amount of paper you'll need will be that length of string, plus 10cm.
For large and unwieldy objects such as a tennis racket, place cardboard on either side of the item to create a thin rectangular prism, and then wrap as you would any other rectangle.
