Saskatoon's Favourite Winter Activities

When the cold sets in and the snow covers the ground, Saskatoonians are known to bundle up and enjoy the outdoors just as much as we do in the summer. Here is a list of tried and true family favourite winter activities that you can enjoy this year!
Outdoor Skating - There are numerous outdoor rinks around the city, and chances are good your nearest neighborhood school rink is open and free for public use. If you need to borrow skates, head to the Cameco Meewasin skating rink at the PotashCorp Plaza right by the Bessborough.
Enchanted Forest - Grab a hot chocolate and take a drive through the fabulous 20th Anniversary light display at the Forestry Farm Park. If you prefer to stroll through the night air, Saturday Jan 5th is the Blue Cross Light Walk from 5:30pm-9pm.
Tobogganing - Saskatoon has a number of great hills that offer varying levels of height and steepness. You’re never too old to have fun and with friends and family as you race to the bottom of the hill!
Cross-country Skiing! For those who love exercising outdoors and won’t shy away from some cold weather, cross country skiing is a great way to take in the fresh, crisp air and burn some energy. There are miles and miles of groomed and not-so-groomed trails around Saskatoon that are free to enjoy.
Christmas Light Display at The Berry Barn - This year our light display is better than ever and we can’t wait to share the joy and magic of our Holiday Lights with you! Entry is $5 with all proceeds going to 650 CKOM
