Friday Flower Feature - Zinnia's

This week’s Friday Flower Feature is one of the easiest plants to care for, the zinnia. Zinnia’s grow quickly and bloom heavily and make for a beautiful burst of colour in any garden and are known to attract butterflies!
This cheery annual grows for one season and makes a great cut flower. They are suitable for edging, window boxes and other containers, certain varieties also work great in hanging baskets.
It’s recommended to grow zinnias from seeds as they are tricky to transport as a nursery plant. The location you choose to grow them in should have full sun and have rich, well drained soil. Soil pH should be between 5.5 to 7.5; the plant will grow more quickly if soil is amended with compost.
Zinnia’s are very easy to care for, deadhead your flowers to prolong their flowering. Maintain a moderate soil moisture and fertilize your plant lightly. What are your planting and care tips for Zinnia’s?
