Friday Flower Feature - Snapdragons

These beautiful Snapdragons are the perfect pop of colour for your garden!
These flowers grow best in full sun to partial shade. They can handle some shade in the afternoon but if they’re planted in full shade it’s easier for them to catch diseases.
Snap Dragons need more water in the first 2-3 weeks of planting so their roots can adjust. If you have well drained soil to the point of sandiness, water them daily otherwise once every three days will do.
After the first few weeks have passed they only need to be watered around once a week and remember to water near the crown of the plant to avoid drooping.
You can clip the top stem and any long side shoots to produce more flower growth, this makes the plant look more bushy and full. Regular deadheading will also help the appearance and lifetime of your Snapdragons and other flowers!
Snapdragons prefer the soil pH to be between 6.0 and 7.2. Adding organic matter to the soil will also help them stay healthy and encourage blooming.
