Friday Flower Feature - Campfire Coleus

This week's Friday Flower feature is the Campfire Coleus - as golden and gorgeous as this plant is, it’s even easier to care for!
Campfire Coleus need fertile, well-draining soil and prefer to be planted in partial shade.
Keep in mind that Coleus plants do grow rapidly which makes them best suited for being planted around your bed border, or used to fill out your plant bed or pot. You can plant them close together in clusters so they bush out or singularly throughout your bed.
Coleus plants need their soil to be moist but not soggy, if they’re overwatered they’re more prone to diseases.
It’s not necessary but adding half-strength liquid fertilizer will help them grow in spring and summer. Spiked flowers will appear in the summertime, but these can be removed without damaging the plant. You can also pinch the shoots to produce bushier growth.
Although these plants are easy to care for in the summer, they are susceptible to cold temperatures. They must be dug up and brought indoors over winter for them to survive.
Campfire Coleus is a gorgeous plant that adds warmth to any garden. Come visit us and check out our selection!
